LiveJournal ColdFusion User Group

phydSep. 4th, 2006 12:33 pm As embarrassing as it sounds...

I've completely forgotten about the LJCFUG. I forgot that Jeff and I had created it. I had forgotten that I had not posted to it in a very long time. I had forgotten all about Livejournal, actually. Certainly no excuse, which is why I'm posting today.

A few months ago, I released one of my first actual pieces of code. I call it FusionGallery. It's a simple, efficient Coldfusion based image gallery. It uses CFX_openimage, and mangles original photos, generating thumbnails, along with other sizes of images (small and medium) so that you can have multiple sizes displayed on your webpage.

The original Gallery concept was verymuch a work in progress, but progressed over time to what I released. You can see more about , or download FusionGallery here. If you guys have any questions, or want to critique my work. I can dawn my fire-resistant pants ;-)

The issue I have encountered with is that while writing the web service on c# one of the parameters of the method that should be used is a array of structure. The issue is actually that the client written on ColdFusion doesn’t see my method and while launching it crashes it and displays the error. "Web service operation "test" with parameters {t2={{A={[{PRICE={12},NAME={Myname}}]}}}} could not be found. "

My question is what is the right way to declare the variables in the web service? (It is not advisable to change the client as I’m writing the web service for the client and not vice verse.)

Here the code of the client and web service.Collapse )

lrdjesterOct. 6th, 2004 10:42 am XML integration with CF 5.0

I am trying to query a web service within an app to lookup the +4 zip from USPS.

Is there a good resource for using the returned XML string?

OK, I am being tasked with creating an app. It is pretty strait-forward except for one thing. I need to lookup a value from a web service and pull out one value.

I think I wouldn't be as stuck if it were not for the fact that this is on our CF 5.0 server. (Really need to do the MX upgrade.)

So, my question is, do any of you have any functions or customtags to do this? I wouldn't ask, but I am under the gun here. :( Isn't that always the way it is?

All your images are belong to ColdFusion :)

My latest CF programming fling has to do with my hard to navigate pictures directory. I'm serious, I have a boat load of pictures I've put up online, and the things are just a pain to go through. So, what did I do? I made a CF program that generates thumbnails on the fly, and displays them all for me, so I don't have to deal with it. Thank you, Cold Fusion!

The downside? It can be a little server intensive... it's time for a new one anyway... You can check it out at the following address: http://www.phydiux.com/pic_gallery/. I'm sure it will be up/down/flakey/or slow for the next few days, until it's all done.

What do ya think? No, you can't have it! :D

Anyway, just to fill in some more information, this tag uses CFX_image, which is a great image manipulation tag. I would use it all the time if I could, but not everything I have to do with CF has to do with image manipulation ;)

phydOct. 17th, 2003 01:40 pm allow myself to introduce... myself

Hello, I'd like to welcome hpana_cheeser to a community that he started. :D I'd also like to introduce myself. I'm a 23 year old who lives in Michigan. I'm only a part time CF programmer, because the rest of the time I'm a systems administrator. I have concocted a few things in coldfusion, focusing on database manipulation, with some raw file manipulation, and windows registry manipulation. I like manipulating ;-]

Anyway, just thought I'd hop on and say hello.

hpana_cheeserOct. 17th, 2003 11:49 am Welcome

We're the first-ever LiveJournal ColdFusion User Group (LJCFUG).

I'm Jeff, 23, a full-time CF developer. I've written a couple functions on CFLib.org and am webmaster of a Harry Potter fan site (HPANA), which employs a lot of the new MX features.

This community exists to help ColdFusion developers find each other on LiveJournal, share tips and gripes, and just chat about anything CF.

Our official site, TotalFusion, is now online and will be made into an archive for random stuff that anyone here to contribute to.
